Vintage Tablecloth Sewing Journal

Vintage Tablecloth Sewing Journal

I loved making this A5 Sewing Journal from my Aunts old 1940s tablecloth ! It features a little patchwork, quilting, some vintage buttons and applique.

It ties at the side with a thin pink ribbon and has a ric rac border and a lace insert (reclaimed from an old lampshade 😉) on the reverse. Just imagine how it would feel to have a whole year of sewing documented for 2021, including fabric swatches tips and techniques. What wonderful memories! Or you could use it for inspiration and stick or even “sew in” magazine cuttings and favourite fabrics. It really is up to you!

The paper inside is 170gsm recycled cartridge paper (40 sheets) so could also be used for sketching or calligraphy. The book has a hard cover and is spiral bound - this means you can fold the pages to form sewn pockets to encase buttons trims and fabric scraps on your sewing machine!

The journal will arrive in a gold box with a cream tie, gift wrapped in tissue making it the ultimate sewing gift for any sewing enthusiast! Happy Stitching
